White Sox Notes

Brian Anderson has come down with a stomach ailment and has been sent home from winter ball. Apparantely, he has lost 20 pounds. This is an unfortunate setback for Anderson. He needs to continue to develop physically, and this will undoubtably set him back.

Rumors are swirling that the Sox could aquire several big name players this off-season. Gary Sheffield has reportedly named the White Sox as one of the teams that he would accept a trade to, and there are rumors that the Sox are also interested in aquiring Gary Matthews, Jr. Of course, none of this strengthens the White Sox bullpen, which is an imperative if they are going to make the playoffs next year.

In lesser news, journeymen outfielder Luis Terrero has been aquired. Terrero hit .200 for Baltimore last year. At 26 years old, he is not much of a prospect at this point and should be considered a longshot to make the roster in 2007.
