White Sox Outslug Tigers

White Sox 13 Tigers 9- This was the first game of this series that I was able to watch, and I was rewarded by seeing the White Sox complete a sweep of Detroit. Detroit still sucks.

Tadahito Iguchi and Jim Thome homered in the first, and Alex Cintron added a pair of triples. However, the story of the game from a Sox fan's standpoint was the craptastic pitching of Jon Garland. Garland's changeup was good today, but he left to many fastballs up. Even worse, his curveball did not have much bite to it today. This was an ugly afair. The bullpen continued to suck as well. Matt Thornton and Brandon McCarthey were both repeatedly tatooed by Tigers pitching.

The good thing is that the Sox hit well with two outs and successfully put several rallies together. If they can continue to hit like that, they will have time to find their pitching staff. I still think this is going to be a good season.
